A white satin wedding gown with cream-coloured cut velvet flowers all over. The gown has a variation of long kimono sleeves that narrow snugly around the wrist and a mandarin collar. The front of the bodice has a seam up the centre front and two darts for shaping. The skirt is very full and has a slight train in the back. It is lined with rayon. There is a hook and eye at the collar on the centre back and a zip that runs from the neckline until just below the waist.
Primary Prod Period
This wedding gown was worn by Natalie Reville. Mrs Reville came to New Plymouth in 1950 to work as a nurse and it was during this time that she met her husband. Mrs Reville was married on 5 July 1955 and she had her wedding dress made in New Plymouth by Mrs Suhr, a local dressmaker. The materials for the dress were purchased at Haughton's Dress Fabric shop.
