A journal created by Betsy (Bessie) Jane Hoskin (1876-1940) as a social diversion. The handwritten, foolscap journal was created as a society newspaper and records real and imagined events in New Plymouth in 1880.
Bessie was the daughter of John and Annie Henwood and married John Hoskin in Eltham in 1900.
