Unsolicited comments from Facebook, Waitara Historical from Pippa Taylor, March 2018: Does anyone remember the school going to Pukekura Park in 1940 and we practiced a lot for this. We had to form the shape of Mount Egmont. Many had to wear white and many blue. I think we did excercises..A celebration of 100 years of helping ourselves to Waitara and Taranaki. Waitara Historical, from Alex Watson, March 2018. Pippa Taylor I missed being in that but I remember the kids practising on the front playground just about every day to the tune of "Three O'Clock in the morning." MrLaing was the Headmaster in those days wasn't he? But that performance given by all the schools at Pukekura Park was just massive.
