Description
Follett Carrington was employed as a surveyor in the Lands and Survey Department from early in the century until his retirement in 1918. He died in 1948.
An exercise book containing notes and decisions, including changes in the Lands & Survey Department policy, list of sites (many of them historic or scenic reserves) worked on; a list entitled "Description and location of guards, sentry etc., during war with natives" (in New Plymouth), giving location of guard posts, (see also ARC2005-115 Map showing positions of Guard and Blockhouses and Sentry Posts thrown around the town of New Plymouth - Maori War 1860-61). Most pages are blank.
