Description
Oral history. Martha was born in Copenhagen in 1941, and describes her memories of her early life in Denmark before emigrating to New Zealand with her parents in 1953. There is a description of her voyage out to Auckland and experiences of being a new immigrant, learning English and settling into school life. After training as a nurse at Auckland Hospital, she married and descibes her family life, living for a short while in Tonga, and the United States of America. After 16 years abroad she returned to live in New Plymouth.
