Description
Francis Vernon Douglas, who worked in New Plymouth in 1935-36 was born in Johnsonville, Wellington on 27 May 1910. J.P. Dowd, a retired Francis Douglas teacher, was asked to research the history of the college, in particular this priest whose name was given to the school. Information was obtained from monthly school newsletters, from extracts from the book 'Road to High Adventure' (1910 - 1943) by Doris Burton and from people who remember him.
