Shirley talks about her work as a secretary at a massage parlour in New Plymouth CBD, how she came about obtaining this employment (her husband and herself were unemployed, her husband found very low paying work and then left her, her neighbours worked for the massage parlour and told her of the job vacancy), the poor treatment of the working girls by the owner, pressure on her to start 'working', customers mainly being contractors working in the oil industry, anecdotes about customers and coping with drunk customers.
