Description
Oral history. Harold Brassey Newton was born in Waitara in 1916. Newton recounts his early years and schooling. In 1934, Harold joined the Mounted Rifles and was accepted for the Air Force, Levin in 1940. Newton was posted in Canada and he gives details of his training, work and social life there. Newton also reflects on his experiences flying aircraft in Europe during World War II. He also gives details of farm life during the 'slump' period before World War II.
