Oral history. Alister (Donald MacAlister) Nelson was born in Hastings in 1928. He recalls his early life in Hastings and Inglewood during the 1940s. Alister was the owner of Nelson's Bakery in Inglewood. He talks of: bread deliveries, changes in techniques, the catering side of the business, the business grows, changes in food trends, Jubilees and consequent union problems, wedding cakes, and highlights. Sport, clubs, family details, the Moa Dairy Company and other businesses are also discussed.
