Description
Emmy (Emma) MacKenzie was born in England in 1921. At the age of 16, she began her training as a nurse and later went to Scotland to do maternity training. She describes the training and conditions of the work. While in Scotland she met her Husband Alexander (Sandy), who was in the New Zealand Navy. They married and returned to New Zealand, living on a farm in Hawera. MacKenzie continued her nursing career in New Zealand working as a district nurse.
