Oral history. Mabel Wood was born in New Plymouth in 1916 and grew up on a farm in Hurworth. She went to the Carrington Road School until the age of 12, when she left to work on the farm. In this oral history, Wood speaks of; family life, the Frankley Road dairy factory, and oil derricks in the area. She also mentions various people who lived in the Hurworth area.
