Description
Oral history. Born in Utrecht, 1928, Frederikus (Fritz) talks of growing up in Holland and his experiences of the war years as a teenager, becoming the head of the household at 15 years of age. He emigrated out to New Zealand as part of the Assistant Emigrant Scheme, organised by the Dutch and New Zealand Governments, and worked at the Okato Cheese Factory. After recovering from an accident, he married Corry at St. Josephs Church, New Plymouth. Fritz discusses his family life, involvment in sport and the success of his children in soccer and Karate.
