Ward, Kathleen

Production date
1971-1981
Description
In 1971, Kathleen Ward found a snake skin in Pukekura Park. She did not report the find until mid 1972. Publicity drew an anonymous letter from Turramurra (Sydney) claiming the writer had liberated Black snakes in the park some years earlier. The papers include a letter sent from Australia with envelope. The stamps were removed by the Police for clues as to who sent the letter and a clipping showing a red bellied black snake was enclosed with the letter. Also six newspaper clippings relating to the finding of two snake skins in the park.
