Thomas Colson aged 23, steerage passenger and Catherine Drayton aged 21 who emigrated with her parents Benjamin and Elizabeth are listed as passengers on the Eden which arrived in New Plymouth on the 29 October 1850 after a long and stormy voyage.
Thomas is named in the New Plymouth Juror Lists as a baker and confectioner in Currie Street.
Thomas and Catherine married and had four children. Their son Thomas, aged 7 died from scarlet fever on the 24 June 1864.
Their youngest son Ralph Drayton was still living when Catherine died 28 December 1912 aged 85 and Thomas died 30 December 1915 aged 90.
