Description
A copy of the Geneva Bible, comprising four sections. Book of Common Prayer (and Psalms of David). Undated. The Genealogies of Christ (from Adam; etc) by John Speed. Undated. The Bible. Robert Barker, 1615. The New Testament London 1615, Robert Barker. Concordances London, Robert Barker, 1615.
Whole Book of Psalms (Metrical, Sternhold and Hopkins, with engraved musical notation). The copy was rebound ca. 1820.
Inscriptions: 'Edwin Battley, 3 Courtney Terrace, Kingsland 1846' on front flyleaf (19th Century). 'Presented to his friend Edward L. Humphries as a slight mark of esteem October 1 1848'.

Part 1
Geneva Bible. The Puke Ariki 4 to 1615 copy comprises:
1) Book of Common Prayer (and Psalms of David).
Lacks title and preliminary leaves, so no date or imprint is present.
2) The Genealogies of Christ (from Adam; etc) by John Speed. Undated.
3a) The Bible. Robert Barker, 1615.
3b) The New Testament London 1615, Robert Barker.
3c) Concordances London, Robert Barker, 1615.
4) Whole Book of Psalms (Metrical, Sternhold and Hopkins, with engraved musical notation). This copy has had to be severely cropped to bind it in, resulting in loss of headings, signatures and catchwords. Even the bible portion has poor margins and shaved headings as a result of the 19th C rebinding.
The Puke Ariki copy has been rebound ca. 1820.

2. 'Thom Drury' on sig. A of Bible (17th C).
3. 'Edwin Battley, 3 Courtney Terrace, Kingsland 1846' on front flyleaf (19th Century).
