Description
Oral history. Born in Posterholt, Holland, in 1929 Margaret describes her childhood, the death of her mother in 1942, the war years, school, and farming in Holland. Margaret and Leo, her husband to be, emigrated to New Zealand in 1953. Leo sailed on the Sabaica, and Margaret came on the Zuiderkruse. Margaret describes her new life in New Zealand, finally settling on their farm at Egmont village, dairy farming and growing vegetables, in partnership with the Nans family. Margaret describes differences in the way of life between Holland and Taranaki.
