Description
Oral history. Albert was born in Essex, England in 1913. He describes his early life, starting work at the age of 12. He worked as an engineer and went into the Services, where he became Chief Engineer of the War Department Fleet, 1939 to 1953. Albert emigrated to New Zealand in 1954 with his wife and son. He describes aspects of life in New Plymouth and makes comparisons with life in the United Kingdom.
