An interview with 89 year old Mrs Ileen Salt (nee McLintock) who recalls her life including the influenza epidemic of 1918 while living at Tokomaru and later in 1921 at Patea. She arrived in Eltham aged 16 years and learnt the millinary trade at the Bon Marche from Miss Emmett. She remembers the shops and shopkeepers in Eltham and the 1926 fire in the Boarding House at Eltham.
