Oral history recording. Former Power Board worker Ernest (Shorty) Coad (1897-1982) recalls life as a soldier in the trenches of France during the First World War 1916-1917. He was underage when he enlisted and experienced gas attacks and shrapnel wounds whilst in France. Abstract folder also contains a letter from Ernest's daughter Jean Prideaux.
