Description
Riverlea School opened on 1 February 1899 with 22 pupils. By the end of 1900 the school roll had risen to 67. The school house was the focus of community activities until a hall was built. In 1957 the decision was made to build a new three-roomed school and this was opened on 15 February 1965. In April 1999 Riverlea School celebrated its centennial but a falling roll and a government policy of school closures saw Riverlea closed at the end of the school year in 2003.
