Born at Manaia in 1908 Jim describes his early years in Manaia, education and a pharmacy apprenticeship with Mr J. D. Tait of Hawera and his own pharmacy in Inglewood.
Talks of parent arriving in NZ. Father a jeweller. Describes early years in Manaia, education and a pharmacy apprenticeship. Daughter is also a qualified pharmacist. Talks of Friendly Societies. Also the changes in cosmetics/medicines and dispensing. Talks of involvement in various organisations including Egmont Alpine Club, Inglewood Borough Council, Golf Club, Rotary, Masonic Lodge etc
