Description
Born in 1907 in Gosforth, England. Don Pool emigrated with his family to New Zealand in 1923. He studied accountancy, worked as accountant and company secretary in Auckland then became a wholesale merchant, purchasing the firm of John Avery Ltd. New Plymouth. Involved in politics, Don stood as National Party candidate for New Plymouth in 1938 and was chairman of the New Plymouth Branch of the National Party 1951 - 1984. Don died in August 2002.
