Oral history. Betty talks of her life in and around New Plymouth.
Born 1910, Taihape. Talks of family. Left school at 15 and took up office work. Married at St Mary's Church, New Plymouth, and went farming near Inglewood. Talks of singing in Choir, Mabel Whittaker as choir mistress. Became involved in local radio in early 1930's. Describes local productions, children's radio sessions, music broadcasts etc. People mentioned include Ted Payne, Trevor Hoskin, T A Edwards, Herb Mullon (Simon Sam), Mrs Grace, Mr Lee and Mr Smale. Was also involved in running Bingham House, the womens home in Vivian Street NP. Talks of family.
