Description
Born in England 1828, Elwin Brodie Dickson came to NZ in 1853. Amongst various positions, he was employed as Postmaster at New Plymouth, worked within the Public Service in Auckland and was Registrar of the Maori Land Court in Wanganui. With a great interest in botany, Dickson collected botanical specimens as he moved through the country and two major collections are held at the Auckland Institute and Museum and the Wanganui Regional Museum.
