Written in Plymouth 28th October 1841, Mr J W Rendel sends best wishes to Capt William Hobson. The letter refers to a promise made by Hobson prior to his departure from England with regards to Mrs Rendel's brother Edwin Harris - introducing him and includes a testimonial.

1) The letter. Written in Plymouth 28th October 1840, Mr J W Rendel sends best wishes to Capt William Hobson.

2) A sheet of paper which was originally folded to form an envelope. This sheet is addresses to Hobson and was sealed with sealing wax. A post script has been added "Capt Hobson died before my father could deliver this letter" signed Mary Weyelfang.

3) The envelop in which the letter arrived in the Museum

4) A sketch of the seal.
