Description
A World War I diary and transcript which includes excerpts from the book Anzac Diary : a nonentity in Khaki by N.M. Ingram. Treharne Publishers, [1987] alongside the diary entries of Arnold Fieldes and copies of Fieldes' military record.
Born in Manaia in 1897, Arnold Fieldes, Regimental no. 69543 enlisted in 1917 in the Wellington Reserve Battalion, 35th NZ Regiment and was discharged in September 1919. Fieldes also served in the New Zealand Forces during the World War II, Regimental No. 515315 and was posted for a time to the Prisoner of War (POW) camp at Featherston. He died in 1972.
