Description
The Taranaki Branch of the Victoria League, which was formed in 1913, is divided into several committees, the records consist of reports and minutes from various committees and a cashbook.
The Executive Committee minutes are contained in 5 volumes and deal with League activities and financial transactions. They span the years 1913-1922 and 1931-1961. The Cash book contains details of expenditure and a list of life members and spans the years 1929-1950.
The Book Committee reports 1926-1934 record financial transactions as well as the number and destination of book parcels. The House Committee minutes 1926-1934, mention Poppy Day, Daffodil Day, play readings and Floral teas. The minutes of Young Contingent (members under 30 years) 1949-1951, deal with social functions such as buffet teas and dances.
