Description
The diary of John Graham Morpeth, son of William Morpeth. At the time John, a teenager, was living on the West Coast with his family and attending boarding school at Waitaki Boys' High School. He records his summer holidays, and school life with an emphasis of diet. For further information on the family see ARC 2001-385.Box 4 - contains a photograph of John and companion.
John's school cap is also held in the Puke Ariki collection
John Morpeth was drowned, with a companion, in the Wilberforce River, Canterbury in 1929. They were tramping from Lake Kanieri to Lake Coleridge. his body was never recovered. See History of Waitaki Boys' High School, p359/60.
