Description
The company was formed in October 1882 to acquire a timber yard and factory in Gill Street, New Plymouth and carry on business as timber merchants, sawmill proprietors and timber growers. The company also traded as builders and contractors and dealt in building materials until it was dissolved in March 1984.
The records consist of eight volumes of minute books of directors' meetings (1882-1954), one volume of minutes of annual general meetings (1911-1951), two volumes of share register records (1882-1902, 1936- 1947), one share transfer register (1882-1957) and several bundles of legal papers granting tramway and timber rights (1890-1904). These records are all handwritten.
