Description
Established in 1926 by Lady Alice Ferguson, the League of Mothers was an interdenomionational, social organisation with an education, religious focus on the sanctity of marriage and mothers' responsibitity for their children.
The New Plymouth Branch was formed in 1947 and its activities included regular meetings with talks, religious readings, music and discussion groups.
The records consist of minute books for general meetings 1947 - 1981, committee meetings 1947 - 1960
and 1966 - 1986, account book 1947 - 1958, membership rolls 1947 - 1952, and a historical scrapbook compiled in 1972.
