Architectural plans for a farm cottage and milking shed located on Wiremu Road, created by architects Duffill and Gibson for Michael O'Brien in April 1939. Policeman Michael O'Brien and his wife Catherine came to Patea from Middlemarch in 1899 and bought land in Opunake.

Michael & Catherine O'Brien came to Patea from Middlemarch in 1899 - Michael was a policeman there. They bought land in Opunake, the boundaries were Opua &Wiremu rd. Michael died in 1936
