Cottage Nopera Road Pihama for D. McLachlan Esqr. [plan]

Production date
1933
Description
Architectural plan for a cottage located on Nopera Road in Pihama, South Taranaki. Created by architects Duffill & Gibson for D. (possibly Doug) McLachlan in September 1933.
House was built on a 300 acre sheep farm owned but rarely visited by D. McLachlan.
The front boundary of the unnamed farm was the road and the rear was the Oeo river. There were some 1200 sheep and a few other animals.
The house was lived in by the farm manager, Syd Beanland and his family between 1935-1945.
The family arrived with five children, and a sixth was born while they lived there. An extra bedroom was added about 1940 onto the left side of the plan.
