Description
Oral history recording. Ian Menzies (1915-2001) was born in Waipukurau and moved to New Plymouth in 1927. He became choir master at Stratford in 1933 then came back to St Mary's Church in New Plymouth before going to training college. Ian returned to New Plymouth in 1958 and rejoined St Mary's. Ian describes Sunday services at St Mary's Church, organist Mr Renaud and singing in the choir. He also talks about extensions made to church buildings and his experiences during the Second World War.
