Oral history. Shirley Adams talks with Lesley Herlihy about her memories of Vanguards marching team, of Inglewood during the 1950s. Lesley talks of travelling to competitions, costs of travel, Sadie Cramer (chaperone), team members with polio etc.
Part of a collection of interviews focusing on marching in Taranaki.
Recorded on 15th Aug 2002 at the home of Peggy Nelson in Hinau Street, Inglewood during a get-together of former team members Collette Bendall, Jeanette Morrison and Lesley Herlihy.
