They describe the family's background in Germany, emigration to New Zealand on board the Terpsicord in 1875 and subsequent settlement in New Zealand. The majority of the information relates to the life of the writer, his childhood, recollections of World War I etc. He took up employment with the NZ railways and describes the arrival of each of his children and family life.
