Description
Under the National Development Act of 1979, the Synthetic Fuels Corporation lodged an application to construct a synthetic petrol plant at Motunui. The trustees of the Ngati Rahiri hapu of the Te Atiawa, made a deposition to the Planning Tribunal outlaying their concerns and objections to the plants position at Motunui.
The records consist of copies of extracts from the trustee meeting, the deposition to the Planning Tribunal in 1981 and statements from various members of the hapu.
