The New Plymouth Mardi Gras Carnival Committee was formed in 1939 at the prompting of the Ngamotu Beach Committee. In 1943 a resolution was passed to place the Carnival activities into recess until the conclusion of the War.
A minute book 1939 - 1943 for the Committee. In addition to the minutes of the Committee, there are also minutes of meetings with local organisations and clubs with regards to entertainment.
