 Description
In 1947 a committee was formed in order to decide on an appropriate memorial to be erected in commemoration of war casualties. Once the decision to build a hall was made, the committee's task was to find a suitable location. The Taranaki War Memorial Hall, part of the Library and Museum complex was opened in 1960.
A minute book, including newspaper cuttings, covers the planning and resourcing of the War Memorial Hall, 1947 - 1959.
