Description
In 1938, land comprising Paritutu and its surrounds were vested to the New Plymouth Borough Council in commemoration of the landing of the first settlers in Taranaki 1841.
The park was consequently named Paritutu Centennial Park and a management committee was formed, members being drawn from the Harbour's Board, Taranaki County Council, New Plymouth Borough Council and representatives from the Maori community.
The records consist of minutes books, correspondence, copies of donation lists and by-laws.
