Description
Peter Wilson was born in Dunbar, Scotland in 1791. After a private education, he attended Edinburgh University where he studied medicine.
In 1841, Wilson emigrated to New Zealand in the 'Slains Castle', took up land in Wanganui before moved to New Plymouth in 1847, where he replaced McShane as Colonial Surgeon in 1848.
A form letter dated June 3rd 1815, from the Army Medical Board to Mr Peter Wilson, Hospital Assistant appointing him to a position on the staff of York Hospital, Chelsea.
