Typed transcript of letters written from New Zealand by Hugh Ronalds and others 1853 - 1860. (73 p.)
The letters are very descriptive of life in New Zealand, and include letters describing the voyage of the ship Simlah to Auckland. The majority were written by Hugh to his family exhorting them to emigrate, others are by his brothers and sisters and were sent to members of the family remaining in England. They describe the land, people and difficulties they faced in settling in the new colony.
