Description
The Richmond Atkinson families came to New Zealand on the Victory (1851) and the Sir Edward Paget (1853), settling at New Plymouth where they took an active part in the community. They built a settlement at Hurworth and also owned property in New Plymouth. In the early 1860's the families moved to Wellington and Nelson.
The collection is a limited edition publication which includes letters and journals written by James Crowe Richmond and Henry Robert Richmond describing their voyage to Auckland on the `Victory', Oct 1850-Feb 1851 and letters written by Jane Maria Richmond re her voyage to Auckland on the `Sir Edward Paget', 1852-1853.
