Description
Diary originally believed to have been written by Jane Maria Atkinson (nee Richmond) (1824-1914) but now thought to have belonged to her mother Maria Fowler Richmond (nee Wilson) (1791-1872). Maria's nickname was Lely. The journal records day-to-day life and events in New Plymouth and Nelson during the year 1860. Collection also includes a letter to Jane from Harry Albert Atkinson dated 16 April 1879.
