Description
The papers consist of two items. The main part is a transcript of extracts from Bishop Selwyn's letters to Sec. S.P.G, & from his Visitation Journal July 1842 - 1843 in which Selwyn describes the settlement of New Plymouth. The second part is a covering letter to Archdeacon Gavin from A. Hadfield (Selwyn's daughter?) dated 1941.
