Description
A leather flying cap with a chin strap and buckle. The cap has two circular ear pieces with metal insets for communication apparatus and a peak which is secured to the crown with a snap fastening.

This flying cap belonged to Fred Telford, a well known Jersey breeder who ran the Landsowne Jersey Stud on Wairau Road, Oakura. He was interested in the history of the Oakura area and was a member of the New Plymouth Aero Club. He died on 5 December 1989 aged 82 years.
