Description
A brown leather and green canvas German pack and water bottle. The exterior of the pack's flap lid is covered in brown fur and fastens by two leather buckles. On the underside of the flap lid is a canvas pocket and buckled interior compartment of the pack. On the reverse of the pack are two leather shoulder straps. Where these meet the top of the pack is a leather support band with the initials "W F." handwritten in ink. Stamped into the leather are the words "Otto Koberstein / LANDSBERG a. W / 1940". Attached to the base of the pack by a metal clip is an oval aluminium water bottle that sits in a felt holder. The holder is attached to the pack by leather straps and a metal clip that can be unfastened. The felt bottle holder has four domes down its edge that can be opened for taking the aluminium water bottle out. The water bottle has a screw top lid. On the upperside of this lid the marks "S.K.N.38" are engraved. Likewise, the marks "S.K.N.38" are engraved onto the neck of the aluminium bottle.
