Studio portrait of Mrs Samuel Curtis. Curtis is seated and is wearing a dress with a full skirt, a cloak and a bonnet. She is sitting next to a small table that is covered with a table cloth. The table cloth has tassles on it. A vase of flowers sits on the table. A curtain is visible on the left of the image. The studio carpet has a distinctive pattern. Mrs Curtis arrived in New Plymouth on the "William Bryan" settler ship on 30 March 1841.
