My Uncle drove those trolly busses and trams work their driving busses for forty years

This photo is very interesting. The bus has only one pole up and there sees to be only one wire. This is possibly an early test run before the trams finished, The current was picked up with one pole from the tramway overhead wire with the circuit being completed by means of a "skate" dragged along a tram rail. There appears to be tram rails in the road.
