Description
Watercolour and gouache painting depicting dawn of the new millenium. The background depicts a red dawn sky with a overlaid moko-type Maori facial design and a mountain at centre. The four seasons are represented in each quadrant with representative birds and flora. (Summer: Tui and Pohutukawa; Spring: Bellbird (Makomako), kowhai and clematis; Autumn: Riroriro and Karaka; winter: Kokako and Passionvine). There are six yellow linear strands that come together beneath the mountain in the form of a celtic knot. Four of the six forms are decorated with a Maori motifs.
