This badge was awarded to Elaine Soothill (nee Yarrow) on 17 August 1961 after two years of study at the Dental Nurses School at Wellington. She was then posted to Inglewood State School where she spent two years before working at a small Hawera school. She married in August 1963 and was posted to Wanganui before moving to the Gold Coast, Australia in 1979. She retrained at the Brisbane School for Dental Therapists and subsequently worked for the Queensland Health Department for another 27 years before retiring in 2004.
